Users with the appropriate subscription and a compatible SideScan transducer can generate SideScan mosaics and view them as a layer along with contours. You must enable the feature under Processing Preferences or the trip reprocessing settings. If you are logging sonar with a SideScan transducer, the SideScan channel information is logged in the .sl2/3 file (not .slg) and you can create the SideScan layer. Generating SideScan layers from previously uploaded sonar files is possible but you may need to contact BioBase staff about special processing requests.
Note: Drive slowly (1-4 knots) and deliberately along non-overlapping paths near an area or
shoreline of interest, clear of dense aquatic vegetation growth. This approach will
produce the clearest imagery.
